Marquette Lacrosse

Marquette Lacrosse is a club organization at Marquette University. The team competes in the MCLA, specifically the Upper Midwest Lacrosse League. The spring season the team competes with teams from all of the United States for the right to play at the National Championships in May. Marquette and the UMLL welcome UW-Milwaukee to the MCLA!

Hunt May 11th, 2008

Marquette would like to officially welcome the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee Panthers lacrosse team to the Upper Midwest Lacrosse League and the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association! UWM, lead by Coach Corey Samora and team President Jack Peterson, were accepted into the league last Saturday at the UMLL Spring Meeting at St. Thomas University. Marquette wishes the entire team good luck and is excited to have another MCLA team in Milwaukee!

With the addition of UWM, the UMLL now has 9 teams competing at the Division 1 club level. UWM and Marquette are only seperated by about 5 miles across the city of Milwaukee.

2008-2009 Captains Announced

Marquette is pleased to announce their four captains for the 2008-2009 season.

Jack Stroessner

Carl Mueller

Matt Morell

Patrick Mulshine

Jack Stroessner, also known as “Princess” by the team, will be a senior majoring in journalism. Stroessner is a close defender from Hopkins, MN, and is a vital part of Marquette’s defense. Princess is a vocal player who is very smart on the field. It will be his fourth year on the team and he will be an excellent leader for such a young Marquette program.

Carl Mueller will be a senior majoring in political science. Mueller is from Menasha, WI, and transfered from Hawaii after his freshmen year. He plays middie and excells at close defense and decision making on the field. Mueller is a smart player and will be a great leader for Marquette.

Matt Morell, known as “Mo” by the team, will be a junior next year and is majoring in broadcasting. Mo is from Glenview, IL, and plays LSM. Over his first two years on the team Mo has solidified himself as an excellent player and leader, and will definitely be ready to help take Marquette to the next level in 2009.

Patrick Mulshine will be a junior majoring in business administration. Mulshine hails from Simsbury, CT, and plays middie. Mulshine has proven to be an incredibly tough and passionate player for Marquette. He is also a talented scorer and dodger and is very highly respected by his teammates.
